A dozen restaurants in the Milwaukee area have reported that one particular man continues to flee from the restaurants without paying, WISN 12 News reported.
The Bottle, Tenuta’s Italian Restaurant, Steny’s Tavern and Grill, Flannery’s, La Masa Empanada Bar, Thurman's 15, Centraal Grand Cafe & Tappery, Corazon Bay View, Lucky Ginger, Bad Moon Saloon, Santino’s and Carnivore are the restaurants that have been targeted, according to WISN 12 News.
"He kind of grabbed the guy's money and took off," bottle employee Jennifer Heimen said, WISN 12 News reported.
News reports detailed his modus operandi.
"Each business said the man walked out on tabs totaling anywhere between $40 to $100. The man's photo is circulating on social media as businesses work to stop him from dining and dashing again," WISN 12 News reported. "Each business said the man was friendly, talkative and looked fairly clean cut. Which is why so many were surprised when he'd leave without paying."
Employees detailed their recollections of his actions.
"He put his beverage napkin over his beer and walked outside," Audra Tempesta of Tenuta's said. "I was so busy, I didn't notice or really care. Then about 30 minutes later was when I was like, 'Oh no.'"
Other crimes carried out by the man have been detailed as well.
"Surveillance footage from Flannery's back in April shows the man pickpocket a customer at the bar, then leave," WISN 12 News reported. "Other businesses confirmed with WISN 12 News the man used the stolen credit cards to rack up tabs across town."
Despite this, police are not aggressively pursuing the case.
"Milwaukee Police Department said the man has not been charged or arrested for this particular crime and they are not currently investigating the case," WISN 12 News reported. "Multiple businesses said they did not file police reports, but are alerting each other to the man whenever they see him."
