Several MMAC priorities align with Governor's 2023-25 Budget
A top priority for the MMAC is talent. Talent drives our economy. We need to continue to strengthen Wisconsin's K-12 education system to better prepare our future talent pipeline. We are supportive of the Governor’s proposals to increase spending on K-12 education, including per pupil funding increases and increasing special education aid.
We also appreciate and support the Governor’s proposal to fix the state’s shared revenue system so that local communities can invest in priorities like public safety.
We are fortunate to have professional sports in our state. Major League Baseball has been a key asset in Wisconsin for more than seven decades and we want to continue enjoying America’s favorite pastime. We support the Governor’s proposal to find a solution that keeps the Brewers here. Read Tim Sheehy's discussion on 'How a new lease agreement for the Milwaukee Brewers benefits the entire state'
The MMAC was also extremely encouraged to see tax reform included in the Governor’s budget proposal. We support reform that reduces the tax burden on Wisconsinites and we are eager to work with the Legislature and Governor as these proposals take shape for the betterment of the Milwaukee region and the health of Wisconsin’s economy.
