U.S. Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin have renewed the bipartisan Wisconsin Federal Nominating Commission agreement. This commission is tasked with recommending nominations for U.S. Attorneys and federal judicial positions during the 119th Congress. The current vacancies include U.S. Attorney positions for Wisconsin's Eastern and Western Districts. Additionally, U.S. Circuit Court Justice Diane Sykes will take senior status on October 1, 2025, prompting a need for a new nomination for the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Senator Johnson emphasized the importance of equal law application, stating, "The goal for all officers of the court, especially judges, should be the equal application of law." He expressed optimism about the commission's role in finding candidates who will uphold justice without letting personal ideologies interfere. "I look forward to working with the commission to find individuals to recommend to President Trump who will provide that type of justice for the citizens of Wisconsin."

Similarly, Senator Baldwin highlighted the significance of choosing impartial candidates: "I am proud to work with Senator Johnson this Congress to select qualified, impartial candidates to serve our state and faithfully apply the law." She expressed confidence in the commission's ability to vet and select suitable candidates to ensure fair justice for their constituents.
