Alderman Jonathan Brostoff is inviting residents and business owners to a public meeting on Thursday (June 8) about plans to transform N. Van Buren St. from Wisconsin Ave. to Brady St.
Alderman Brostoff said representatives from the Department of Public Works will be on hand to discuss some of the planned changes.
“This project will enhance the safety, connectivity, and comfort for people traveling along Van Buren. Improvements will include a new bikeway, pedestrian safety enhancements, more multimodal functionality, transit upgrades, and other traffic safety measures. I want to thank Mayor Johnson for his support and partnership when it comes to creating safer streets for people of all ages and all abilities. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2024,” he said.
