Milwaukee – The Milwaukee women's soccer team has announced its 2024 schedule, featuring non-conference contests against five teams that participated in the 2023 NCAA Tournament and a nine-game home slate. Highlighted matchups include games against Wisconsin and Ivy League champion Harvard.
Third-year head coach Kevin Boyd revealed the full schedule today. Boyd led the Panthers to a 12-3-5 record in 2023, including an unbeaten 7-0-3 conference run. Under his leadership, the team led the Horizon League in points (139), goals (47), assists (45), shots (315), and shots per game (15.8). Nationally, Milwaukee finished in the Top 25 across various categories: 17th in points per game (6.95 ppg), 18th in total assists (45), 19th in scoring offense (2.35 gpg), among others.
The 2024 season begins with two exhibition matches, starting with a home game against DePaul on August 3 and an away game at Loyola Chicago on August 8.
The regular season opens with three consecutive road games against NCAA Tournament teams from last year. The Panthers will face Xavier on August 15, followed by Ohio State on August 22, and Valparaiso on August 25.
Milwaukee's home schedule kicks off with the "Challenge Cup," featuring Minnesota on August 29 and UIC on September 1. This is followed by a significant match against Wisconsin on September 5, who eliminated MKE from last year's NCAA Tournament.
Harvard visits Engelmann Stadium on September 12 after advancing to the second round of last year's NCAA Tournament as Ivy League champions. The following weekend sees Milwaukee playing city rival Marquette at Valley Fields on September 15.
The Horizon League opener is an away game against Northern Kentucky on September 19, followed by Wright State on September 22. Milwaukee then hosts Oakland on September 26 and Detroit Mercy on September 29.
October features a home game against Youngstown State on October 10 before traveling to Purdue Fort Wayne for an October13 match. A challenging weekend follows with Robert Morris visiting Milwaukee on October17 and an away game at IUPUI, last season’s regular-season league runner-up, scheduled for October20.
The final home match is set for October26 against Cleveland State, with the regular season concluding at Green Bay on October30. The Horizon League Tournament will take place from November3-9.
