On September 17, 2024, Chee Neng Xiong was sentenced to ten years in prison and ten years of supervised release. The sentencing followed his guilty plea to charges of distributing methamphetamine and possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. This announcement was made by Gregory J. Haanstad, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

The court records reveal that during March and April 2024, law enforcement agents from the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group and Manitowoc County Drug Task Force conducted four controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Xiong using informants. On May 16, 2024, Xiong was arrested after a search of his residence in Neenah led to the discovery of a loaded 9-mm pistol and ammunition.

At the time of these offenses, Xiong had previous felony convictions in Outagamie and Brown Counties for aggravated battery, soliciting a child to participate in gang activity, possession with intent to distribute amphetamine, and bail jumping. He was also on extended supervision in Wisconsin, which was revoked following his arrest, resulting in his return to state prison.

Senior United States District Judge William C. Griesbach ordered that Xiong's federal sentence run consecutively with his state prison term.

The investigation involved several agencies including the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group Drug Unit, Manitowoc County Drug Task Force, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Wisconsin Department of Justice - Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Timothy Funnell.
