The Milwaukee women's tennis team began their spring break trip with a challenging match against Chattanooga, resulting in a loss on Wednesday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center. The Panthers, now 6-7 for the season, faced a closely contested doubles point, ultimately losing 2-1 to the Mocs, who improved to 7-7.

Emilia Durska stood out by winning both her singles and doubles matches. She defeated Alice Hall in singles at No. 5 with scores of 6-4, 6-4 and partnered with Iva Stejskalova in doubles to secure a victory over Emma Peeler and Emma Pedretti, 7-5.

"The team fought hard and we made them earn every point," said head coach Mark Goldin. "We continue to improve every day and will take full advantage of the 10 days we have remaining before conference play begins to be ready both physically and mentally."

Despite losing the first three singles matches, Milwaukee saw potential for success as Durska claimed their first team point. Nadiia Konieva (No. 2 singles) and Sara Simonova (No. 4 singles) each won their first sets but were unable to maintain momentum; Konieva fell in a third-set tiebreaker.

"Big thank you to Coach (Chad) Camper for hosting us at their beautiful facility," Goldin remarked about UTC's program. "Looking forward to another big challenge tomorrow against Georgia Gwinnett, which will also be our last match before conference play."

The Panthers are set to conclude their spring break trip with a match against Georgia Gwinnett at 10 a.m. CT. Georgia Gwinnett is notable for winning seven consecutive NAIA National Championships.

Chattanooga defeated Milwaukee with an overall score of 6-1.
