The Milwaukee women's tennis team faced a challenging opponent in the University of Wisconsin, resulting in a 7-0 loss on Saturday evening at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Panthers, now 6-6 for the season, had their two-match winning streak halted by the Badgers, who are ranked No. 25 and have extended their own winning streak to nine matches.

"The scores did not reflect how hard the Panthers battled today," said head coach Mark Goldin. "We fought hard until the last point in every match and made the Badgers earn every point they won."

Wisconsin quickly took control of the match by securing the doubles point early on. Coach Goldin acknowledged the strength of Wisconsin's team: "This is the most talented Badger team I have seen and it was a great experience to come to Madison for this match."

In singles play, Emilia Durska put up a strong fight against Kaja Jacobson at No. 5 singles but eventually lost in a third-set tiebreaker. Sara Simonova also competed closely with Ariel Johnson at No. 4 singles before falling 6-4, 6-3.

Nadiia Konieva saw her impressive ten-match winning streak end against Taylor Cataldi at No. 2 singles with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-3.

Looking ahead, Milwaukee will travel south for upcoming matches starting with Chattanooga on Wednesday. "We are looking forward to our tough road schedule ahead next week in hopes to continue to raise our level of play so we are ready for the start of Horizon League conference play at the end of the month," added Goldin.
