The Milwaukee men's swimming and diving team has seen three of its athletes named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. The announcement was made by CSC today.
The selected athletes are Ben Lorenz, Sam Hauke, and Adam St. John. For Lorenz and Hauke, this marks their second time receiving this honor, while St. John is recognized for the first time. All three have also been named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team for the current academic year.
Ben Lorenz, a junior physics major with a GPA of 3.816, excelled in freestyle events this season, reaching the podium in eight races and tying the program record in the 50 Free at the conference championship meet with a time of 20.12 seconds.
Sam Hauke is a senior studying Biomedical Engineering and holds a GPA of 3.954. He has previously received Faculty Athletic Representative Awards in both 2022 and 2023.
Adam St. John is also a senior, majoring in actuarial science with a GPA of 3.833. He achieved nine wins during the season and scored points for Milwaukee in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives at the Horizon League Championships.
According to College Sports Communicators' criteria, undergraduate student-athletes must be sophomores or above academically and athletically with at least a cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for recognition.
