Natalie Block has set a new record for Milwaukee in the 100m hurdles during the Raleigh Relays. The athlete clocked a time of 13.29 seconds, surpassing her previous program record of 13.66 set in 2022.

"The highlight of the day was definitely the women's short hurdles," stated head coach Andrew Basler. "I thought all four of those ladies got their outdoor campaign started off strong."

Coach Basler praised Block's performance, noting, "For Natalie, it was her first 100mH race in almost two years. To be able to open up with a school record and a mark that will get her into the NCAA West Prelims bodes well for what's to come."

Joining Block in the race were Kynnedi Malone, Anna Szepieniec, and Cloey Fare who placed 14th, 17th, and 20th respectively. Both Malone and Szepieniec made it into the program's top ten with their times; Malone at fourth with 13.81 seconds and Szepieniec tied with Fare for fifth at 14.04 seconds.

In another event, Anelise Egge achieved seventh place on Milwaukee's all-time list in the 1500m run with a time of 4:34.82.

"I also thought Anelise ran a solid first 1500m of her career," commented Basler. "She knows there is a lot more and we are excited to watch her grow in that event this season."

Meanwhile, at Illinois State's Redbird Challenge, competitors took part in men's and women's hammer throw events on its first day. Jamie Pankratz secured third place on the women's side with a throw measuring 49.61 meters (162'9"). Samantha Satterfield came fourth with a distance of 47.48 meters (155'9"). Finnegan Shields led for men by finishing eighth with his throw reaching 45.61 meters (149'7").

The Panthers are set to continue participating in both meets as main events proceed at Redbird Challenge on Saturday.
