Kayla Rollins and Molly O'Regan led the Milwaukee women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Robert Morris at Engelmann Stadium. The win extended Milwaukee's unbeaten streak in regular-season Horizon League play.
"From a soccer standpoint, I thought Robert Morris was quite good … I just thought we were really good on the night," said head coach Kevin Boyd. "I thought we played exceptionally well."
The Panthers, now with a record of 7-6-2 overall and 6-0-1 in the league, secured first place in the Horizon League standings with this win against the Colonials (4-5-5, 3-2-2).
"It was a really important game and gave us the opportunity to take over first place," Boyd stated. "It's a tight race and this year it looks like it's going to go down to the wire."
Milwaukee has now maintained an unbeaten run of 26 games in regular-season Horizon League play.
"We are significantly better than we were in the beginning of the season," Boyd noted.
Rollins scored twice during the match, marking her sixth multi-goal performance of her career. Her goals came at 13:42 and 30:19 minutes into the game. O'Regan contributed with a goal and an assist, continuing her strong performance against Robert Morris.
Goalkeeper Parker Donahugh recorded six saves for Milwaukee, extending her scoreless streak to nearly 286 minutes.
"That was a big-time save at the end to preserve the shutout," Boyd commented on Donahugh's performance.
Milwaukee dominated possession with significant advantages in shots (26) compared to Robert Morris (7). Brenna Murray from Robert Morris made ten saves during the match.
The Panthers will next face IU Indianapolis on Sunday.
