The Milwaukee women's basketball team faced a challenging game against Green Bay, resulting in an 86-53 defeat at the Klotsche Center. The Panthers were close at halftime, trailing by only two scores, but Green Bay's strong second half secured their victory.

Maddy Schreiber led the Phoenix with 20 points, evenly split between both halves. The team made 18 successful field goals in the second half, including six three-pointers. Bailey Butler contributed significantly with eight of her 12 assists during this period.

Green Bay started the second half with a decisive 17-3 run, extending their lead to 20 points and maintaining control for the rest of the game. Head coach Kyle Rechlicz commented on his team's performance: "We came out of the locker room so flat after a good halftime discussion. Green Bay came out and hit a couple of early shots, we didn't get back on defense, and they scored a couple of times off of transition … when a team goes on a run against us, we just have a really hard time responding."

Kacee Baumhower was Milwaukee's top scorer with 14 points, including 12 in the first half. Anna Lutz added eight points and four rebounds while Izzy Pugh recorded seven rebounds and four blocks.

Despite winning the rebounding battle slightly at 33-32, Milwaukee struggled with turnovers. Green Bay capitalized on this with 15 steals from 22 Panther turnovers while limiting their own to seven.

Milwaukee attempted to fight back from an early deficit using long-range shots. Baumhower tied the game at nine with a three-pointer and later gave Milwaukee a brief lead in the first quarter.

The score remained tight until late in the first quarter when Green Bay took a slight lead with a last-second three-pointer. They maintained their advantage throughout the second quarter before pulling away decisively in the third quarter by outscoring Milwaukee 31-11.

Milwaukee will play Marquette next Sunday at Al McGuire Center.
