The Milwaukee women's cross country team participated in the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday afternoon, marking their final meet before the Horizon League Championships.
"The Bradley Pink Classic has historically been a great meet as the final tune-up for the conference championships," stated head coach Andrew Basler. "When you look at the average team times, we are right there with the other Horizon League teams competing."
The Panthers finished 22nd out of 32 teams, accumulating 580 points. All point scorers for Milwaukee achieved either their season or career-best times.
In the Red Race, Anelise Egge continued her record-breaking streak by setting a 6K time of 21:06.61, marking the fourth-best in program history and her personal best. Rachel Helm followed with a new career-best time of 21:59.28. Cailin Kinas posted a season-best time of 22:03.79, while Ally Schmitz recorded another season-best at 22:59.09. Hallie Hoger concluded the scoring for Milwaukee with a career-best time of 23:01.23.
Anna Gallagher also achieved a season-best with her time of 23:43.59.
"Across all races I believe we had 10 lifetime bests and seven athletes who finished within six seconds of theirs," Basler added. "I really like how both the men and women fought today."
In the White Race, Isabella Switalski led with a time of 24:31.88. Rylan Oberg set her personal best at 25:43.87, and Grace Kline ran her best race of the season with a finish at 26:07.59.
"Heading into the Horizon League Championships, I am excited for the trajectory our men and women are on after today's performance," concluded Basler.
The Panthers will next compete at the Horizon League Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Phoenix Alumni Cross Country Course in Shorewood Park, Green Bay, Wis.
