Anelise Egge from the Milwaukee women's cross country team has been named the Horizon League Cross Country Female Athlete of the Year. The announcement was made by the league office, recognizing Egge's remarkable achievements throughout the season.

Egge's performance this year was notable as she became only the third athlete in Milwaukee's program history to secure an individual title at the Horizon League Championships. Her efforts earned her a place on the First-Team All-Horizon League and an honorable mention for the league's All-Academic team.

During the NCAA Regional Meet, Egge set a new program record in the 6K with a time of 20:41.7. Additionally, she established a school record in the 5K at the Joe Piane Invite on October 4, clocking in at 17:18.2.

Throughout this season, Egge consistently led her team, finishing first among Milwaukee runners at every meet she participated in. She secured victories at events including the Tom Barry Invite, Phoenix Open, and Horizon League Championship Meet.

Egge is also noted as being the first Panther to receive this award since Meg Swietlik in 2020 and only the third overall in Milwaukee's history.

The Horizon League also announced other awards including Hunter Christopher from Youngstown State as Male Athlete of the Year. Sportsmanship Awards were given to Noah Jahnke from Green Bay and Grace Nolan from Oakland, with several finalists recognized for their contributions.
