A federal grand jury has indicted Donta E. Bradshaw, 42, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on charges related to the illegal possession and theft of a firearm. The indictment was announced by Gregory J. Haanstad, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
The indictment alleges that on or about November 19, 2024, Bradshaw stole a Ruger semi-automatic 9mm pistol from a federally licensed firearms dealer in Oshkosh. As a convicted felon, Bradshaw is prohibited by state and federal law from possessing firearms. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison for possession and up to 10 years for theft.
The investigation involved the Oshkosh Police Department, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, and Milwaukee office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble will prosecute the case.
It is important to note that an indictment is merely an accusation and not proof of guilt. The defendant remains presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
