The Milwaukee men's track and field team participated in the Badger Midwest Invite held in Chicago on Saturday. Jaelyn Reeves-Lile made a notable impact by winning the 60-meter dash and setting a new school record in the 300-meter event.

Reeves-Lile achieved a time of 6.83 seconds to secure first place in the 60m race. In the 300m, he clocked a time of 34.10 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 34.60 seconds, earning him second place in that event.

"Jaelyn continues to establish himself as one of the league's top sprinters," stated head coach Andrew Basler.

Iyimi Fagbamiye also competed in the 60m, securing third place with a time of 6.96 seconds, which ranks as the tenth-best time in school history. Freshman Nate Taylor finished fourth in the 300m with a time of 34.90 seconds, marking it as the program's fourth-best performance.

"Iyimi continues his strong freshman year; he flexed his top-end speed in the 60m dash," Basler added.

In the long jump competition, Milwaukee athletes dominated by claiming all three podium positions. Ethan Mitchell took first place with a jump of 6.86 meters, followed by Liam Richards at 6.76 meters and Tim Maidment at 6.52 meters.

Caden Thomas excelled in the high jump event, achieving a height of 2.00 meters to secure another first-place finish for Milwaukee.

"In the field events, our long jumpers competed strong, and Caden was very consistent in the high jump," concluded Basler.

The Panthers will continue their season next weekend at Purdue Fort Wayne's Mastodon Invitational from January 17-18 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
