The Milwaukee men's track and field team participated in the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invite in La Crosse. The event saw Jaelyn Reeves-Lile setting a new school record in the 60m dash with a time of 6.72 seconds, surpassing his previous record of 6.76 set earlier this season on December 13. Despite his achievement, Reeves-Lile secured second place at the competitive meet.

"One highlight of the day for us was Jaelyn breaking his own record," said head coach Andrew Basler. "Jaelyn is only going to continue to improve as the season continues which is really exciting for us all to see."

Iymi Fagbamiye tied his career-best in the 60m dash with a time of 8.05, placing him fifth on the program's indoor leaderboard.

In high jump events, Bryant McLaughlin cleared 1.97 meters to win, while Caden Thomas also reached 1.97 meters but finished fourth due to tiebreakers.

Evan Bartelsen achieved a pole vault height of 4.70 meters, earning him second place.

"Our high jumpers and pole vaulters had a really good day," Basler added. "Bryant really has shown his experience as a vaulter this season and continues to put himself in good position each week."

Karsten Grundahl finished second in the 800m run with a time of 1:56.05.

Anthony Buford led the Panthers in long jump with a leap of 7.05 meters, securing fourth place.

Milwaukee's next competition will be at Grand Valley State's Big Meet on February 14 in Allendale, Michigan.
