Jamichael Stillwell, a player for the Milwaukee men's basketball team, has been recognized as one of 30 finalists for the prestigious 2024-25 Riley Wallace Award. This accolade is given annually to the most impactful transfer in NCAA Division I college basketball.
Stillwell's performance this season has been noteworthy. He began with a double-double against Lakeland and continued to excel throughout the season, setting new records for Milwaukee. He achieved a school-record 16 double-doubles, surpassing the previous record of nine in a single season. His averages were impressive, with 13.0 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.
As of March 12, Stillwell ranks sixth nationally in rebounds per game and leads the Horizon League with an average of 10.9 rebounds per contest. He is also fifth in offensive rebounds per game and ninth overall with his total number of double-doubles.
During this season, Stillwell set several new records for Milwaukee: highest per-game rebound average (10.9), most total rebounds in a season (333), most offensive rebounds in a season (123), most games with at least ten rebounds (19), consecutive games with ten or more rebounds (5), most rebounds in a single game (19), and others related to both offensive and defensive rebounding.
The Riley Wallace Award honors transfers who have made significant impacts on their teams. Named after former Hawaii coach Riley Wallace, it recognizes his legacy of welcoming transfers into his program during his coaching career.
A committee comprising current and former head coaches along with two senior staff members from CollegeInsider.com will determine the award recipient. The announcement will be made in San Antonio, Texas, coinciding with the men's Division I Basketball Championship.
Finalists include players from various universities such as St. Thomas' Miles Barnstable, South Dakota State's Oscar Cluff, Xavier's Ryan Conwell among others including Jamichael Stillwell from Milwaukee.
