Cost of college went up for all students at Marquette University

Tuition and fees rose 4.9 percent for 2018-19 at Marquette University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wisconsin students paid $41,870 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,970 more than the $39,900 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 2,019 students received grants or scholarships totaling $44.2 million and 1,037 students took out student loans totaling more than $9 million.

Including all undergraduates (11,605), 7,940 students used grants or scholarships totaling $153.5 million, and 3,780 students took out $27.5 million in federal student loans.
