MATC Board Elects New Officers; New Board Member Appointment Approved

Issued the following announcement on July 29.

The Milwaukee Area Technical College Board of Directors elected new officers to one-year terms at the Board Organizational Meeting July 12. A new director appointment also was officially appointed by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board on July 14.

The  2021-2022 officers are:

Lisa Olson, superintendent, Whitnall School District, chairperson

Erica L. Case, human resources director, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, vice chairperson

Citlali Mendieta-Ramos, owner/director of special events, Antigua Latin Restaurant, LLC, secretary

Nikki Moews, human resources director, Pioneer Transformers/Pioneer Power Solutions, Inc., treasurer

Antonio Diaz, general manager, Van Horn Latino LLC, was approved as a new member of the MATC District Board, replacing David Mitchell, who resigned his term due to time constraints. Diaz was appointed in the employer (15+) classification and will serve through June 30, 2023.

Wisconsin’s largest technical college and one of the most diverse two-year institutions in the Midwest, Milwaukee Area Technical College is a key driver of southeastern Wisconsin’s economy and has provided innovative education in the region since 1912. More than 30,000 students per year attend the college’s four campuses and community-based sites or learn online. MATC offers affordable and accessible education and training opportunities that empower and transform lives in the community. The college offers more than 170 academic programs; and transfer options leading to bachelor’s degrees with more than 40 four-year colleges and universities. Overwhelmingly, MATC graduates build careers and businesses in southeastern Wisconsin. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
