Milwaukee Mayor Barrett invites residents to attend a free, virtual workshop as part of the 11th annual Housing Resource Fair.

Barrett encouraged residents to attend the workshop on Twitter saying, “The 2021 Housing Resource Fair takes place on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drive up to the Northcott Neighborhood House at 2450 N. 6th St. or participate in virtual workshops. Get connected to resources to help with housing repairs, home financing, foreclosure and more.”

According to the city, the event will feature four virtual, free workshops: Am I Ready to Buy a Home? at 10 a.m., COVID-19 Resources at 11 a.m., Homes for Sale – Searching for a Home at noon and Home Repair at 1 p.m. Registration for the workshops is encouraged. Each workshop will be followed by a Q&A session. Participants can also pick up an informational packet from the Northcott Neighborhood House, which supports the Milwaukee community through job training, a food pantry and other programs.

In a press release, Alderwoman Milele Coggs urged residents with housing needs or questions to attend the event.

“This year we are once again working to make sure valuable housing resource information can be shared with residents in an easy and accessible manner to support those in need. The Housing Resource Fair is always a collaborative effort, and I want to thank all the partners who have helped make this year’s virtual resource fair a reality," she said.

Alderman Russell Stamper echoed that sentiment, saying, “Our goal is to reach our communities and I believe these resources are essential for neighbors and the City of Milwaukee as a whole. I am excited to continue this effort alongside community stakeholders and partner organizations.”

One of the sponsors of the event is the Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation (NIDC), which partners with residents, financial institutions, developers and other organizations to improve the quality and livability of Milwaukee’s neighborhoods.
