The Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball program will host its second annual "Black and Gold Hour" on Tuesday, October 14. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Mo's … A Place For Steaks, located in downtown Milwaukee.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet head coach Bart Lundy, current players from the team roster, and members of the Milwaukee Athletics Department. The event is intended to offer an inside look at the men's basketball program and provide a preview of the upcoming season.
Bart Lundy has led the Panthers to three consecutive seasons with at least 20 wins, a feat last achieved by the program between 2002 and 2006. He is also noted as "the first head coach to claim 20+ wins in each of his first three years on the bench in Milwaukee's NCAA Division I era." Last season, the team ranked first in NCAA fastbreak points with an average of 18.4 per game, reflecting Lundy's "Tilt The Floor" approach.
Organizers state that Lundy "has changed the culture of not only the team, but what the MKE program means to the City of Milwaukee." During the evening, he will discuss how his staff has developed the program over recent years.
Tickets for "Black and Gold Hour" are available for $50 each. Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward supporting Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives for the men's basketball program. The event will feature heavy hors d'oeuvres starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a formal program at approximately 6 p.m., which includes a question-and-answer session.
