The Bronzeville Cultural & Arts Festival, a celebration of culture, family, and fun, is set to return in 2023 on Sunday, August 6. The full day of events will take place from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on North Avenue between N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and 7th Street, and will help kick off the opening weekend of Bronzeville Week, which will run from August 5 – 12.
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, whose District is home to Bronzeville and hosts the annual Bronzeville Week, is thrilled for this year’s festival. “The Bronzeville Cultural and Entertainment District has such a rich and diverse history of music and art that existed between the early 1900s and the 1960s. The current iteration of Bronzeville has seen a renaissance in the arts and commerce, and this festival is one way in which we work to highlight and uplift the many local African-American artists, entrepreneurs, and all those who contribute to the vibrancy of the area. Mark your calendars now for what promises to be an exciting, dynamic day,” she said
The Arts & Cultural Festival will include a variety of vendors selling food, clothing, and various other products. In addition, there will be musical performances, live entertainment, a kids zone, and much more.
Vendors are still being accepted for the 2023 Bronzeville Cultural & Arts Festival. Those interested can access the vendor portal here.
