Alderman Lamont Westmoreland will be hosting a town hall meeting on Monday, July 10 to discuss the proposed citywide 2% sales tax increase. The town hall will be held at 8901 W. Capitol Dr., in the Wellpoint Care Network Training Center, from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Attendees should enter the main lobby entrance at the north parking lot. Due to ongoing building renovations, an accessible entrance is available at the south employee entrance.
Budget Director Nik Kovac and Director of Intergovernmental Relations Jim Bohl will be present to answer your questions.
“The proposed sales tax increase is extremely important, and it could bring some big changes to Milwaukee,” said Alderman Westmoreland. “It’s very important that residents are appropriately informed on the details of this proposal. That’s why I want to extend this invitation to all my constituents: so that everybody can make their voices heard on this critical issue, and so we can come together as a community to consider what changes this proposal might bring and what comes next.”
