Scarlett Johnson, parent advocate and member of Moms for Liberty Wisconsin, posted on the X platform, formerly Twitter, announcing an upcoming event in Milwaukee featuring Riley Gaines as the speaker. Gaines, a former swimmer for the University of Kentucky, speaks on fairness in women's sports.

"It's time Wisconsinites stand up and speak louder against the radicals who do not represent us," Johnson said. "There is no battle more consequential than the battle over culture."

After securing a tie with transgender woman Lia Thomas for fifth place in the 2022 Women's Swimming National Championships in the 200-yard freestyle, Gaines has taken on the role of an activist for women in sports, advocating for their protection against having to compete with transgender women in women's sports. In the men's 500-yard freestyle, Thomas was ranked 65th, but she achieved first place in the women's 500-yard freestyle. In the men's 200-yard freestyle, she was ranked 554th, but she tied for fifth place with Gaines in the women's freestyle event, according to MSN.

As an advocate for fairness in women's sports, Gaines has actively raised her voice through various platforms such as events, podcasts, interviews, and her own website titled 'Save Women's Sports'. She offers speaking engagements and can be booked for events. On August 22, she is scheduled to speak at Leadership Institute's special event, Courage Unleashed, in Milwaukee. The Leadership Institute serves as a gathering place for conservatives who are "ready to stop being silenced". Limited tickets are available for $45, according to the Leadership Institute.

"Under the guise of competitive fairness?" Gaines wrote on the X platform in April in response to a video of Thomas discussing the inclusion of transgender athletes in sports. "Are you really trying to say you would have won a national title against the men? Does it not break your heart to see women lose out on these opportunities? The Biden Admin's proposed bill denies science, truth, and common sense. This take is selfish and shows an utter disregard for women. The Biden Administration is actively and aggressively working to pass laws that erase decent and fair treatment for women in sports."
