MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee women's basketball team has announced its non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season, featuring four home games and a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Panthers will face eight new teams from last season, including Kansas State on November 20 and Marquette on December 15. The team will play a total of 11 non-conference matchups starting in early November.
The season begins with an away game against St. Thomas on November 4 at Schoenecker Arena. Last season, the Tommies achieved a Division I program-record with 15 wins since transitioning from Division III.
Milwaukee's home opener is scheduled for November 6 against the Carroll Pioneers at the Klotsche Center. Carroll recorded 23 wins last season and won the CCIW conference title at the Division III level.
Former Horizon League member Butler will visit Milwaukee on November 9. The Panthers hold a narrow historical advantage over Butler with a record of 20-18 in their previous meetings. Butler recently exited in the second round of the WNIT in the 2023-24 season.
Valparaiso is next on Milwaukee's schedule, renewing their rivalry as former Horizon League opponents. The Panthers have historically performed well against Valparaiso with a record of 19-9.
Following three consecutive home games, Milwaukee will travel to Madison to face Wisconsin on November 17 at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin reached the quarterfinals of the Women's NIT last year.
Kansas State, another postseason contender from last year who reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament, will host Milwaukee on November 20. Kansas State ended their season ranked No. 18 in the final WBCA Poll.
On November 24, Milwaukee returns home to play Northern Illinois Huskies for the first time in five years. The Panthers have won nine out of their last twelve encounters with NIU.
As part of the Puerto Rico Clasico in San Juan, Milwaukee will play American University on November 27 and Air Force Falcons on November 28.
After beginning Horizon League play against Youngstown State, Robert Morris, and Green Bay by December 11, Milwaukee faces Marquette at Al McGuire Center on December 15. Marquette finished last year with a record of 23-9 and participated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The non-conference schedule concludes with an away game against Central Michigan Chippewas in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Last season, Milwaukee tied its program record by making seventeen three-pointers against CMU in an emphatic win.
