The Milwaukee track and field teams are preparing to compete in the Horizon League Outdoor Championships this weekend in Youngstown, Ohio. The event will begin on Friday at 11:00 a.m. (CT) at Farmers National Bank Field with the men's decathlon, followed by the women's heptathlon starting at 12:30 p.m. (CT). Field events such as discus and javelin will also commence at 11:00 a.m. (CT), while the preliminary rounds of the 1500m run and the 10,000m run will take place later in the day.

In the women's competition, Milwaukee aims to defend its title as Horizon League Outdoor Champions after finishing third during the indoor season. Notable athletes include Natalie Block, who has been named Alfreeda Goff Horizon League Athlete of the Year four times and has recorded top performances in hurdles events this season.
Anelise Egge enters with strong times in distance events, including a school record-breaking performance in the 5000m run. Olivia VanZeeland leads high jumpers with a mark tying for first in the league, while Anna Szepieniec seeks another heptathlon title following her record-setting pentathlon win indoors.
On the men's side, Milwaukee is targeting its first top finish after five consecutive runner-up placements. Jaelyn Reeves-Lile leads with league-best times in sprints, while Divine Aniamaka is aiming for a triple jump title after last year's second-place finish.
Freshman Josh Cygan has made significant strides in discus throwing, earning recent accolades as League Field Athlete of the Week. High jumpers Bryant McLaughlin and Caden Thomas are among league leaders, alongside long jumpers Anthony Buford and defending champion Anthony Campbell.
Athletes meeting NCAA qualifying standards will advance to compete at Texas A&M's E.B Cushing Stadium from May 28-31 for further championship opportunities.
