Three athletes from the Milwaukee track and field teams have been recognized as Horizon League Athletes of the Week. Natalie Block, Jaelyn Reeves-Lile, and Josh Cygan were announced as this week's honorees.
Natalie Block received the Women's Runner of the Week award for her performance at the Jim Green Invitational. She won the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.85 on Friday and placed fourth in the 100m hurdles with a final time of 13.59 after an initial prelim time of 13.54.
Jaelyn Reeves-Lile was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week following his achievements at the same invitational. He set a personal best in the 200m dash with a time of 20.94, ranking second in school history, and finished second in the 100m dash with a time of 10.53.
Josh Cygan earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his discus throw at the Badger Challenge, marking his second consecutive week receiving this title. His throw reached 53.30 meters, placing him third on Milwaukee's all-time leaderboard.
Milwaukee has accumulated nine Athletes of the Week during this outdoor season, totaling 20 when including indoor performances.
The Panthers will compete next at the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 9-11 at Farmers National Bank Field in Youngstown, Ohio, available for viewing on ESPN+.
