The Milwaukee cross country team is preparing for two competitions this weekend. The Panthers will participate in Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational on Friday, October 4, followed by Wisconsin Lutheran's Warrior Invitational on Saturday, October 5.

The Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame in Indiana, will start with the women's 5k race at 12:30 p.m., and the men's 8k race will follow at 1:15 p.m. The races are set to take place at Burke Golf Course. This meet presents an opportunity for Milwaukee to compete against several nationally-ranked programs including Northern Arizona, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Cal Baptist.

On Saturday, Milwaukee will head to West Allis, Wisconsin for the Warrior Invitational. The women's 6k race begins at 11:00 a.m., with the men's 8k scheduled for noon at Greenfield Park.

Anelise Egge leads the women’s team after securing her third top-10 finish of the season at the John McNichols Invite. Egge aims to build on her previous success from the Tom Barry Invite where she completed a 5k in 19:02.0. Cailin Kinas and Rachel Helm are also expected to contribute significantly; both have posted strong performances earlier this season.

For the men’s team, Carter Eckhoff, Cullen Boyle, and Sam Schreiber have been consistent performers throughout the year. Boyle recorded the team's best time in an 8k event earlier this season with a time of 25:13.9 during the Phoenix Open. Eckhoff recently led Milwaukee with a time of 25:21.0 at their last meet.

Several athletes achieved personal bests during last week's John McNichols Invite. Aidan Sosnowski improved his career-best in an 8k event with a time of 26:22.6 while Joely Overstreet marked her career-best in a 6k event clocking in at 23:33.0.

Milwaukee plans to conclude its regular season on Friday, October 18 at Bradley University's Pink Classic before heading into the Horizon League Championships scheduled for November 2.
