Milwaukee women's basketball team has announced the addition of Kacee Baumhower to their roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Head coach Kyle Rechlicz expressed enthusiasm about the new transfer, stating, "We are thrilled to announce the signing of Kacee. Her ability to extend the defense with her range and her craftiness around the rim will make an immediate impact this upcoming season."
Baumhower is transferring from Wright State, another Horizon League member, where she played as a starter for two seasons. Coach Rechlicz noted, "We had been searching for someone with experience at the wing position and Kacee has an abundance of it." She further added that Baumhower quickly connected with both staff and team during her visit.
During her time at Wright State, Baumhower played in 65 games, starting 57 of them. She averaged nearly 30 minutes per game and scored an average of 11 points per game over two years. In the most recent season, she increased her scoring average to 12.5 points per contest.
Her performance on the court included shooting 38.3 percent overall from the field and making 86 three-pointers at a conversion rate of 30 percent. Additionally, she contributed over 100 rebounds each season along with accumulating 164 assists, 67 steals, and 13 blocks.
Before joining Wright State, Baumhower briefly played for St. Bonaventure in the Atlantic 10 Conference during her freshman year. During high school at Sylvania Northview in Northern Ohio, she was a four-year starter and three-year captain. She ended her high school career as a three-time All-Ohio honoree with a total of 1,378 points.
Kacee Baumhower joins CeCe McNair and Kallie Peppler as part of Milwaukee's incoming class.
