The latest episode of the "PounceCast," a podcast providing insights into Milwaukee Panther Athletics, is now available. Hosted by Matt Menzl, the show offers listeners an opportunity to hear from key figures within the Panther community.
The new episode features Andrew Basler, head coach of Milwaukee's track and field team. Basler, a five-time Horizon League Track & Field Coach of the Year, is in his sixth season leading both track and field and cross country programs at Milwaukee during the 2023-24 school year. Under his leadership, the teams have achieved significant success, including securing 18 team trophies over five seasons. Notably, they won the 2024 Women's Horizon League Indoor Championship and were runners-up in the men's championship this year.
Before joining Milwaukee, Basler spent five years as an assistant coach for men's and women's track and field at Central Michigan University. He also worked as a graduate assistant coach at CMU from 2005 to 2007.
The Milwaukee Athletic Department introduced this monthly podcast series in January 2023 to share more stories from within its athletics programs.
