Natalie Block has been named the Horizon League's Outdoor Track & Field Women's Runner of the Week for the second time this season, according to an announcement by the league office. Her recent performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, contributed to this recognition.
Block broke her own program record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.67 seconds, securing third place in the event. This achievement places her more than three seconds ahead of her conference competitors and ranks her 48th nationally.
In addition to her performance in the 400m hurdles, Block also competed in the 100m hurdles, finishing fourth with a time of 13.52 seconds. This is currently the fastest time recorded by any Horizon League member this season.
This accolade marks Block's second award of the outdoor season; she was first recognized on April 2. Other athletes who have received conference recognition this season include Anthony Campbell on April 2 and Dominique Thomas on April 9.
The Milwaukee team is scheduled to participate in two meets this weekend. The Gibson Invitational begins on Thursday, April 18, hosted by Indiana State in Terre Haute, Indiana. On Saturday, April 20, they will compete in the Green & White Invite hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.
