The Milwaukee men's cross country team secured sixth place out of ten teams at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invite in Cuba City. The event was hosted by Platteville.

"Today's race was more about individual opportunity than team success," said head coach Andrew Basler. "We had a lot of good steps forward for the younger guys that raced today."

Freshmen Lucas Picco and Aidan Sosnowski led the Panthers with notable performances. Picco completed the 8K race in 12th place, achieving a career-best time of 26:25.2. Sosnowski followed in 17th place, also recording a personal best time of 26:46.9. Trey Meier rounded out Milwaukee's top three finishers, placing 77th with his career-best time of 28:40.8.

"It was a great step in the right direction for the young guys," associate head coach Jake Reilly remarked. "It was good for them to get a few 8Ks under their legs and really figure out how to run a full race."

The Panthers will compete again next Friday at the Blugold Invite, hosted by Eau Claire.
