The Milwaukee women's swimming and diving team concluded their weekend trip with a decisive victory over Wheaton (Ill.) on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers dominated the meet, winning by a score of 157-62, which improved their season record to 2-1.

"Saturday was a good end to our fall dual meet season," said head coach Kyle Clements. "We were able to race some of our 'off' events that we don't get to swim in a standard dual meet, but we will have to swim in a championship format. Getting those reps against another good team does nothing but help us in the future."

Milwaukee performed strongly throughout the day, securing first place in 10 out of 11 swimming events with seven different individual winners. The team's success began early as they took the top four spots in the 200 medley relay, with the winning team clocking in at 1:48.68. They also claimed the top three positions in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing first with a time of 1:38.26.

Natalie DiProspero had an outstanding performance, winning first place in both the 1000 (10:51.43) and 100 (53.72) freestyle events and contributing to the victory in the 200 freestyle relay. In addition, Milwaukee secured all top five spots in the 1000 freestyle event.

Grace Hudson won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.67, while Elena Zippel took first place in the 50 freestyle at 24.60 seconds. Johanna Edgren completed Milwaukee's sweep of freestyle events by winning the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:15.06.

In other events, Hanna DeGrace won the 100 breaststroke at 1:08.96; Maddi Hayashi triumphed in the 100 butterfly at 57.93 seconds; and Christiana Brooks secured victory in the pool by taking first place in the 100 backstroke at a time of 58.25 seconds.

Clements added, "The team continues to swim faster and faster even though we were on a back-to-back on the road, which is a good sign going into the House of Champions meet that is a three-day meet."

Looking ahead, Milwaukee will compete next at IU Indianapolis House of Champions Meet from Thursday, Nov.21 to Saturday Nov.,23 at IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
