The Milwaukee women's basketball team faced a challenging road game against the Wisconsin Badgers, resulting in an 82-45 defeat at the Kohl Center in Madison. Kacee Baumhower led the Panthers with 11 points, and Jada Donaldson contributed 10 points. Both Donaldson and Jorey Buwalda secured five rebounds each for Milwaukee.
The Panthers struggled offensively, shooting 30.5 percent from the field, while Wisconsin achieved a shooting percentage of 47.8, including nine successful three-point shots. Tess Myers was a key player for Wisconsin, making five three-pointers and scoring 15 points alongside Carter McCray. Serah Williams added 14 points and Ronnie Porter scored 11 for the Badgers.
Wisconsin dominated on the boards with a total of 52 rebounds compared to Milwaukee's 27, with McCray leading her team with nine rebounds. The Badgers took control early, outscoring Milwaukee 22-11 in the first quarter. Donaldson managed to score five of those points for Milwaukee, including their first three-pointer off an assist from Kamy Peppler.
By halftime, Wisconsin had extended their lead to 42-22, maintaining dominance on both ends of the court and holding a significant rebounding advantage of 29-11 over Milwaukee. In the second half, Wisconsin continued their strong performance by adding another 40 points while limiting Milwaukee to just 23.
Payton Rechlicz contributed seven points and two steals for Milwaukee, while Buwalda added six points along with her five rebounds.
Looking ahead, Milwaukee is set to face nationally ranked Kansas State on Wednesday evening at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m.
