The Milwaukee swimming and diving team concluded its fall schedule at the House of Champions Invitational in Indianapolis. The event was marked by Caleb Carlisle's performance, where he set a new school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:47.34 during the preliminaries. Carlisle later secured seventh place in the finals with a time of 1:51.21 and also achieved second place in the 50 butterfly, finishing in 21:53.

Head coach Kyle Clements remarked on the competitive nature of the meet, stating, "This meet was a quick one, full of good teams and swimmers, and it pushed us to a different level." He noted numerous personal bests among his team members and anticipated updating their record board upon returning to Milwaukee.

Victor Kostov reached the podium by securing third place in the 100 individual medley with a time of 51.16. On the women's side, Janelle Schulz finished fourth in her event with a time of 57.90. In another highlight for Milwaukee, Gunnar Seversen narrowly missed breaking the school's freshman record in the 1650 freestyle by just 0.02 seconds, placing sixth with a time of 15:47.07.

Coach Clements acknowledged the challenges posed by the intense schedule over three days, saying, "There were many long sessions that kept us at the pool with not a lot of time to recover in between." He emphasized that these challenges would ultimately benefit their physical and mental resilience.

In other events, Skylar Ruggles and Mara Freeman took sixth and seventh places respectively in the women's 200 backstroke. The team concluded their participation with relay races; the women finished fifth while the men secured sixth place in their respective categories.

Looking ahead, Coach Clements expressed optimism about future competitions: "This meet is just a preview of what's to come for our program … we have a long way to go, but we are headed in the right direction."

The Panthers will resume competition on January 25th when they host Green Bay for a Horizon League dual meet at Klotsche Natatorium.
