Sophie Ignatowski, hailing from Hartland, Wisconsin, has officially joined the Milwaukee women's soccer team. Head coach Kevin Boyd confirmed her transfer for the upcoming 2025 season.

"We are excited to have Sophie join us," Boyd stated. "I know her well, as she played in the club I coach with locally. She is a dynamic, attacking-minded wide defender who will fit into our style of play immediately."

Ignatowski's previous year was spent at UIC where she made a significant impact by earning a spot on the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshmen Team. During her time with the Flames defense, which conceded only ten goals over a 6-2-2 MVC campaign, she participated in 16 matches and started three times.

In high school, Ignatowski received Honorable Mention All-State honors from the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association after her senior year at Arrowhead Union High School in 2024. Throughout her prep career, she consistently earned Classic Eight All-Conference recognition and was named first-team during her last two seasons. In 2021, she led her team to a regional title.

Her club achievements include winning the Wisconsin State Cup Championship with North Shore United in 2022 and securing runner-up positions twice in other years. Additionally, Ignatowski's club team became USYS National League PRO Midwest Champions and finished second at Midwest Regionals in 2022. She also received the National League PRO Best XI award in Orlando that December.
