The Milwaukee swim and dive team is set to host Green Bay in a dual meet at Klotsche Natatorium on Saturday. The event will commence with a senior day recognition, followed by the competition starting at 1:00 p.m.
Reflecting on their last performance, the Panthers participated in the IU Indy's House of Champions Meet from November 21-23. During this event, Milwaukee's team set three new school records and two freshman records. The men's team finished seventh out of 11 teams, while the women's team secured fifth place out of 13.
Caleb Carlisle was among the standout performers, setting a school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:47.34 and a freshman record in the 100 butterfly at 48.14. Gunnar Seversen also achieved a freshman record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:29.32.
Two relay teams contributed to setting school records as well. The 200 freestyle relay team, consisting of Charlie House, Caleb Carlisle, Jackson Ahrens, and Ben Lorenz, completed their race in 1:19.88. Additionally, the 200 medley relay team featuring Victor Kostov, Andrew Jones, Caleb Carlisle, and Ben Lorenz finished with a time of 1:28.74.
For the women's team, Gabrielle LePine excelled over the weekend by winning the top spot in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 28.34 and securing another victory in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.94.
As they prepare for Saturday's meet against Green Bay, Milwaukee holds an impressive track record against their opponent. The Panthers have won 12 out of their last 13 matchups against Green Bay and four consecutive wins on the women's side. The men's team has an overall record of 11-4 against Green Bay since 2010 and has won their last three meetings.
Green Bay enters this season with both its men's and women's teams holding a dual meet record of four wins and three losses each. Their most recent competition was at the St. Thomas invite from November 21-23 where they placed fourth among four teams.
Looking ahead, Milwaukee will conclude its dual meet season on Friday, January 31 when they travel to Stevens Point for a meet scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
