The Milwaukee men's swimming and diving team marked "Senior Day" with a decisive victory over Green Bay, finishing with a score of 200-92.5. The event took place at the Klotsche Center, where the Panthers celebrated their seniors with a memorable performance.
Head coach Kyle Clements expressed his sentiments about the occasion: "The senior meet is always a special one," he said. "Starting the meet recognizing and acknowledging all those men and women that have worked so hard over the past years makes this one of my favorite meets."
A standout moment was when Jay Jensen, Charlie House, Jackson Ahrens, and Gunnar Seversen set a new Klotsche Center record in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:41.82, surpassing the previous record by 13 seconds. Clements remarked on the team's momentum: "Once we got racing the fast swims started coming."
The Panthers secured first-place finishes in 12 out of 16 events, showcasing strong performances from several athletes. Senior Jay Jensen excelled in his final home meet by contributing to the record-breaking relay and winning the 200 freestyle in 1:44.40.
Freshman Gunnar Seversen had an impressive day as well, claiming victories in both the 1000 freestyle (9:25.09) and the 500 freestyle (4:40.32). Andrew Jones dominated breaststroke events, winning both the 100 (57.40) and 200 (2:09.58).

Coach Clements looked ahead to future competitions stating, "This part of the season is all about fine-tuning and getting ready for the final meet...we have come a long way this season and I look forward to seeing how it all ends."
