Three players from the Milwaukee women's basketball team reached double figures in a close 66-62 victory against IU Indy Jaguars at The Jungle on Wednesday evening. Anna Lutz led with 15 points, while Kacee Baumhower and Payton Rechlicz added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Baumhower's performance included her milestone of scoring the 1,000th career point.

Head coach Kyle Rechlicz praised the team's comprehensive effort: "I thought this was a complete performance by our team," he stated. "I'm especially proud of our defensive effort; we were very disciplined and communicated well on that end of the court."

Milwaukee limited IU Indy to a shooting percentage of 39.3% from the field and forced six turnovers through steals. They also dominated the boards with a ten-rebound advantage over the Jaguars, totaling 34-24 rebounds. Coach Rechlicz commented on their rebounding strength: "I think that it's attributed to our physicality... We're really taking ownership of the boards, and even our guards are boxing out more on the perimeter."

The Panthers established an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead by eight points at 18-10 and extending it to nine points by halftime at 31-22. Despite a push from IU Indy's Katie Davidson in the second half that reduced Milwaukee's lead to four, key plays from Jorey Buwalda helped maintain their advantage.

In the final minutes, despite back-to-back threes from IU Indy narrowing Milwaukee's lead to two points, Baumhower secured MKE's win with crucial scores.

Baumhower contributed significantly beyond scoring with five assists and three steals. Kamy Peppler scored eight points along with three assists and two steals for Milwaukee.

Katie Davidson stood out for IU Indy with a game-high 24 points, reaching her own career milestone of 1,000 points combined between her time at Miami (Ohio) and IU Indy.

Looking ahead, Milwaukee will play its next three games at home starting Saturday against Cleveland State at Klotsche Center.
