Milwaukee - Gunnar Seversen and Gabrielle LePine from Milwaukee's swimming and diving team have been named the Horizon League Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office.

Seversen received this recognition for the first time following his outstanding performance at a dual meet against Green Bay on Saturday. He began by winning the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:25.09. The freshman then secured another victory in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 4:40.32. He concluded his day by anchoring the 800 freestyle relay team to a record time of 6:41.82 at Klotsche Natatorium.

On the women's side, LePine maintained her strong form in the 100 breaststroke, achieving a top finish with a time of 1:02.63. She also excelled in the 100 freestyle, posting a leading time of 52.30. LePine, now recognized as League Swimmer of the Week for the third time, played a crucial role in her team's success in the 200 medley relay, which they completed in 1:45.22.

The Panthers are set to compete again on Friday, January 31st, when they travel to Stevens Point for their final dual meet of the season at 5:00 p.m.
