U.S. Senator Ron Johnson, chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, has reached out to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, Inc., concerning Facebook's alleged censorship of individuals reporting injuries from COVID-19 vaccines. The senator's letter raises concerns about Facebook's actions in shutting down support groups and concealing private messages among those affected.
The issue came to light following the publication of "Worth a Shot?", a book that documents Brianne Dressen's experiences. Dressen, who participated in an AstraZeneca clinical trial, was part of Facebook support groups that were reportedly targeted by the platform.
Following a roundtable hosted by Chairman Johnson on June 28, 2021, featuring individuals with adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines like Dressen, Facebook allegedly began dismantling vaccine injury support groups. Despite efforts by Dressen and others to find refuge in what was then considered the largest COVID vaccine injury support group globally, it was shut down five days after the roundtable.
In a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Zuckerberg attributed some of these actions to pressure from the Biden administration. He claimed that officials urged Facebook to remove posts critical of COVID-19 vaccines and warned against allowing content suggesting potential side effects.
Chairman Johnson stated: “Facebook’s alleged censorship campaign against the vaccine injured, as detailed in Worth a Shot?, is the latest evidence of Big Tech’s efforts, in conjunction with the Biden administration, to silence anything critical of the COVID cartel and the vaccines.”
Johnson has requested Zuckerberg provide records showing any interactions with federal entities regarding pressure from the Biden administration to censor discussions about vaccine injuries and related support groups.
Further details about this development can be found on Breitbart's website. The full letter sent by Chairman Johnson is also available for public viewing.
