The Milwaukee women's tennis team faced a challenging match on Friday afternoon, resulting in a 7-0 defeat against UIC at XS Tennis Village. The Panthers, now with a record of 4-4, put up a strong effort but were unable to secure any wins against the Flames, who improved their record to 3-1.

"We didn't get the win today, but it was not an issue of effort," said head coach Mark Goldin. "The team fought hard and UIC played some solid tennis."

In doubles competition, UIC secured victories at No. 1 and No. 2 positions to claim the point. During singles play, several matches were competitive; however, UIC emerged victorious in all decisions.

Notably, Nadiia Konieva battled back from a one-set deficit to force a tiebreaker in her match against Mayu Ushio but ultimately fell short with scores of 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 10-6.

The Panthers will return home for their next match against St. Thomas on Saturday at River Glen Elite, with play scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
