The Milwaukee track and field teams are preparing to compete in the Horizon League Championships this weekend. The event will take place at Lutheran Health Fieldhouse on the campus of Purdue Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fans can watch the competition on ESPN+ starting at 2:55 p.m. CT on Saturday and 11:55 a.m. CT on Sunday.
Saturday's schedule begins with the women's pentathlon and the first four events of the men's heptathlon at 8:00 a.m. CT. Field events include the pole vault, long jump, and weight throw. Running events start at 3:00 p.m. CT with preliminaries for several dashes and finals for the 5000m run and distance medley relays.
Sunday features remaining heptathlon events starting at 8:00 a.m. CT, followed by high jump, triple jump, and shot put in field events. Track events begin with the mile run finals at noon.
Milwaukee's women aim to secure their second consecutive Horizon League Indoor Championship title. Leading contenders include Anelise Egge, who has set school records in both mile and 3000m runs this season. Dominique Thomas leads in the 60m dash while Katie Burns tops league leaders in the 400m dash.
Anna Szepieniec holds the best pentathlon score in the league this season with her performance at the Mastodon Invitational. Morgan Pilate ranks third in conference triple jump standings.
On the men's side, Milwaukee seeks its first indoor league title since 2015 after being predicted to finish second this year. Notable performances include Jaelyn Reeves-Lile's record-breaking achievements in sprints, Lucas Picco leading in the 800m run, and Liam Richards topping heptathlon scores.

Athletes have opportunities to qualify for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships scheduled for March 14-15 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Following that event is an outdoor season opener from March 27-29 during North Carolina State’s Raleigh Relays.
