The Milwaukee women's tennis team is set to face Northern Iowa this Saturday, aiming to extend their winning streak to three matches. The Panthers, with a current record of 6-6, will host the UNI Panthers at River Glen Elite in Milwaukee, starting at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free for attendees.

Milwaukee's recent performance includes a dramatic 4-3 victory over Western Illinois and a commanding 7-0 win against Whitewater. A standout player, Nikola Nikolajeva, played a crucial role in these victories. She notably secured a comeback win against Western Illinois by overcoming six match points and winning the tiebreaker. Her efforts earned her the Horizon League Singles Player of the Week honors on March 5.

The upcoming opponent, Northern Iowa, holds a historical advantage over Milwaukee with a 12-9 lead since their first encounter in the 2004-05 season. However, Milwaukee has shown strong form recently with five wins out of their last six encounters dating back to 2019. Northern Iowa enters this match with a challenging start to their season at 1-9.

Under head coach Mark Goldin's leadership since August 2023, expectations are high for Milwaukee following last season's overall record of 9-12 and third-place selection in the Horizon League preseason poll.

Looking ahead, after facing Northern Iowa, Milwaukee will prepare for an upcoming trip to Florida where they will compete against Connecticut on March 18 at the USTA Center in Orlando.
