The Milwaukee women's track and field team returned to competition at the Ashton May Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse, with notable performances from their athletes. Katie Burns led the team by securing victories in two events. She won the 100m dash with a time of 12.15 and achieved a career-best in the 200m dash with a time of 24.79.

Victoria Evtimov followed Burns with a third-place finish in the 100m dash at 12.19 and a second-place finish in the 200m dash at 25.09. "On the track, Katie put together two really strong races setting personal bests in both," said head coach Andrew Basler. He added, "Victoria competed very well in both of those races as well."

Anna Szepieniec had a successful day, claiming the top spot in the long jump with a leap of 5.85m and finishing second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.24. Basler remarked, "The jumps went really well for us today. We either won or got a great performance in all of those events."

Kallie Volk and Alexandria Simmons performed well in the high jump, with Volk winning by clearing 1.69m and Simmons placing third with a jump of 1.64m. Basler mentioned, "I was excited about the high jump. For the second straight week, Kallie was looking at a bar that would get her to the first round of nationals, and Alexandria Simmons had a very nice career best."

Morgan Pilate also claimed victory in the triple jump with a distance of 11.86m. Hailey Soriaga tied for eighth on the school's outdoor leaderboard with a pole vault of 3.66m.

Overall, the Panthers finished second among the nine teams competing, earning a total of 100 points.

Looking ahead, Milwaukee's team will split next weekend. One group will travel to Durham, North Carolina, to participate in the Duke Invitational from April 10-12 at Morris Williams Stadium, while another group will compete at the Marquette Invitational in Milwaukee on April 11 at the Shimek Track & Field Facility.
