The Milwaukee men's track and field team made a significant impact at the Ashton May Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse on Saturday. The team secured four victories, with notable performances in various events.

Divine Aniamaka achieved a wind-assisted distance of 15.58 meters in the triple jump, earning first place. Head coach Andrew Basler expressed satisfaction, stating, "The jumps went really well for us today. We either won or got a great performance in all of those events."

Bryant McLaughlin claimed victory in the high jump by clearing 2.09 meters, placing him seventh on the program's all-time leaderboard. Basler commented on McLaughlin's accomplishment, saying, "The height Bryant hit has historically made the first round at nationals so that's a very exciting performance for him."

In the pole vault, Evan Bartelsen emerged victorious by clearing 4.76 meters. In the long jump, Anthony Buford improved his personal best with a distance of 7.51 meters, securing a runner-up finish.

On the track, Milwaukee was led by Will Whiteis in the 5000-meter run. He finished first with a time of 14:54.17, followed closely by Bryce Tome, who finished second with a time of 14:58.25. Basler expressed contentment with their performances, stating, "I was really happy with how Will and Bryce ran today, both breaking 15 minutes and setting impressive personal bests."

In the discus throw, Josh Cygan took third place with a distance of 49.57 meters. Overall, the team finished fifth out of eight programs with a total of 75 points.

Milwaukee will participate in the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C., from April 10-12, and the Marquette Invitational on April 11 at the Shimek Track and Field Facility in Milwaukee.
