The Milwaukee women's tennis team achieved a decisive victory over Chicago State with a 7-0 sweep at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club. This result marks Milwaukee's first conference win of the year, improving their record to 7-14 overall and 1-3 in the Horizon League, while Chicago State fell to 0-12 and 0-4 in the same league.

"Head coach Mark Goldin expressed optimism about the win. 'It felt good to pick up that first conference win of the year,' Goldin said. 'Now we will try and get everyone healthy and ready for a big weekend next week. We are hoping to continue this win streak into next weekend and extend it to the conference tournament for a big run.'"

The doubles match began with Emilia Durska and Elisa Rubio winning 6-0 against Trinity Babcock and Karoline Riisnaes. With Chicago State shorthanded, Milwaukee quickly earned the doubles point due to a default at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Milwaukee demonstrated dominance. Sara Simonova defeated Riisnaes 6-0, 6-0, while Rubio secured a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Babcock. Durska triumphed over Danina Hughes with a 6-3, 6-0 win. At No. 1 singles, Nadiia Konieva completed the sweep by defeating Mackenzie King 6-0, 6-3.

The next matches for the Panthers are set at home against IU Indy on April 18 and Northern Kentucky on March 19 as they conclude the regular-season schedule.
