The Milwaukee men's track and field team participated in two events at the start of the weekend: the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky, and the Badger Challenge in Madison, Wisconsin.
At the Jim Green Invitational, Jaelyn Reeves-Lile represented Milwaukee in the 200m dash. He set a new personal record with a time of 20.94, which is the second-fastest in the program's history. The team will return for the second day of the meet tomorrow, with events beginning at 11:00 a.m. CT.
Meanwhile, the Badger Challenge featured several strong performances from Milwaukee athletes. Josh Cygan improved his position in the school's all-time discus rankings with a throw of 53.30 meters, placing him third. Caden Thomas won the high jump event by clearing a height of 1.92 meters.
In the long jump, Alexander Maggit claimed first with a distance of 6.58 meters, while Tim Maidment secured second with a jump of 6.41 meters. Additionally, Jeremiah Johnson achieved a career-best throw of 49.19 meters, earning him second place in the hammer throw.
Iyimi Fagbamiye competed in the 110m hurdles, finishing second with a time of 14.66. In the 400m dash, Kieran Schindler took third place, completing the race in 50.93. Mason Weaver's fourth-place finish in the 100m dash, with a time of 11.10, was the team's best in that event.
The Milwaukee team showed strong performances across various events, positioning themselves well for the remaining day of competition.
