Milwaukee remains under a flood warning following record rainfall that began on August 9 and continued into August 10. County Executive David Crowley has declared an emergency in response to the situation.

Residents are being told to avoid travel as many roads are blocked by deep floodwaters, which have also caused vehicles to become disabled. Officials warn that children should be kept away from floodwater due to contamination concerns and dangerous currents in local creeks and rivers, which reached historic levels over the weekend.

In emergencies, residents should call 911. For property damage such as flooded basements, collapsed walls, or lightning strikes, individuals are advised to contact 211.

Authorities continue to urge everyone in Milwaukee to take precautions during this period of extreme weather.
